:: yellow noodle in tomato soup ::

i cook this at my mom's place, but didn't snap any pics for me to show.

but the recipe is pretty easy, and good to impress any 'unexpected' guests.

recipe nih dapat dari my husband's aunty who is very fond of cooking.

ingredients:-
lotsa garlic (diced)
1.5 tbsp cili kisar
daging (thinly sliced)
fishballs
fish cakes
udang
sawi
2 tin tomato soup (i used campbell's)
2 tsp gula merah/perang
salt
dash of white pepper

served with:-
tauhu yang telah digoreng
mee kuning yang telah dicelur
taugeh kalau suka

method:-
1. panaskan minyak, tumis bawang putih sehingga naik bau.
2. masukkan cili kisar, dan tumis sehingga terbit minyak.
3. masukkan daging, udang, fish balls & fish cakes. kacau sehingga agak masak.
4. masukkan 1 cup air.
5. bila air dah mula mendidih, masukkan tomato soup. masak hingga menggelegak.
6. masukkan sawi yang telah dipotong.
7. season with salt, white pepper and sugar.

and the good thing is - it's kid-friendly too.

:: Kid-Friendly Fried Noodles ::




my sons love noodles and macaroni. the mommy on the other hand is too lazy to cook. so i just dish up this simple noodles for them, which erm, to me is kid-friendly but tasteful enough for adult.

ingredients:-
1. egg noodles (celur)
2. fish balls
3. daging (thinly sliced)
4. carrot (slice)
5. kobis
6. cili merah
7. 1 tbsp oyster sauce
8. 1 tablespoon kicap pekat
9. 2 tablespoon kicap cair
10. bawang merah
11. bawang putih
12. minyak bijan

method:-
1. tumis bawang merah, bawang putih dan cili merah sehingga naik bau.
2. masukkan daging dan fishballs. biarkan seketika sehingga daging masak.
3. masukkan sos tiram, kicap cair dan kicap pekat. gaul sebati.
4. masukkan sedikit air.
5. masukkan carrot dan kobis. biarkan seketika sehingga carrot agak lembut.
6. akhir sekali, masukkan mee yang telah dicelur dan gaul rata.
7. renjiskan sedikit minyak bijan.
8. sedia untuk dihidang.

ps - sedap kalau makan panas2 dengan sos cili, keropok ikan dan bawang goreng. fuh!

:: Muesli Bars ::

Ingredients :-
2 cups of rolled oats
2 cups of breakfast cereal (i use cornflakes)
a handful of almond
a handful of choc chips
a handful of sultana
more or less 150g butter
1/4 - 1/2 cup honey

Method :-

1. preheat oven at 180deg. line slice pan with baking paper. ensure baking paper overhang to ease 'lift up' later. (kita guna term construction sket okay? :P)
2. melt butter and honey in a pot over medium heat till thicken. set aside and let cool.
3. in a bowl mix ingredients 1 -5.
4. pour melted butter and honey into no. 3 till combine. (it's important to ensure that the melted butter is cool enough or u'll ended up with melted choc chips!)
5. transfer into the pan and compact it.
6. bake for 30 mins.
7. let cool completely before slicing.

Ingredients:-
Cili Kisar
Sos Tiram
Kicap Cair
Kicap Manis
Jus Limau Kasturi/Lemon
Sos Lada Hitam
Sos Cili
Honey
Kunyit (terlupa letak)
Bawang Merah, Bawang Putih, Serai (Blend)
garam dan gula (i omit these two)

1. Mix everything.
2. Marinade the chicken and leave overnight before the event.

I love it!

:: Butterless Moist Chocolate Cake ::




i was a bit dissapointed with the outcome. i believe there's nothing wrong with the recipe. it's just due to ME who's pretty lazy to take out the hand mixer, and instead use the food processor to do the job. it seems that the eggs added is a little bit segregrated, otherwise, i believe this should be a perfect recipe.

Ingredients:-
A
2 biji telur
1 cawan minyak masak
1 cawan gula pasir
1 cawan gula perang

B
2 tsp soda bicarbonate
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup chocolate powder
2 cups tepung gandum

C
1 tsp vanilla
1.5 cup chocolate milk
2 tsp instant coffee powder mi with 1/2 cup of water

1. beat eggs.
2. add in sugar and beat till fluffy.
3. pour in minyak masak and beat further.
4. ayak bahan B.
5. masukkan bahan B ke dalam telur, gula + minyak yang telah dipukul berselang-seli dengan bahan C.
6. gaul sebati. (this is the part that i skip i guess. because after mixing, i straight away pour the batter in the mould.)
7. bake in a preheated oven at 170deg for 1 hr or till cook.



:: Mee Sup ::



i believe i copied this recipe from CMG's blog page. altered according to what i have in the fridge. worth trying!
had it yesterday night, since TOH said it's a healthier choice compared to fried noodles. :P

Soup/Gravy
1 whole chicken - i used meatfish balls (normal + fishballs with black pepper) - i added these1 carrot
spinach - i added this
* 2 tbsp rempah sup
* 1.5 rempah kurma
* 1/2 cup air
(* mix all three till dissolve)
2 serai
1" lengkuas
garam
2 liter air (lebih kurang)

Blend
6 ulas bawang putih
3 ulas bawang merah
2" halia
1" kunyit hidup
3 biji buah keras
1 tsp black pepper - i only put a little since there're toddlers to be fed

Tumis
kayu manis
bunga lawang
3 kuntum bunga cengkih
2 biji buah pelaga

Sambal Kicap (altered to my preference)
1/4 cup kicap manis
2 ulas bawang merah
4 cili api
5 biji perahan limau nipis

Garnish
taugeh
tauhu goreng
telur rebus
bawang goreng
daun bawang/sup

Others
Mee

Method :-
1. Tumis bahan tumis sehingga wangi.
2. Masukkan bahan blend, rempah, serai yang telah dititik dan lengkuas. tumis sehingga terbit minyak.
3. Masukkan daging & fish balls.
4. Masukkan air, carrot dan batang sawi.
5. Apabila air telah menggelegak, masukkan sawi.
6. Hidangkan dengan mee yang telah dicelur, garnishes + sambal kicap.

Yummy!
