Black Bottom Butter Cake

Ni bukan kek bontot terbakar tau. hehe. Found this recipe over the net, tapi tak ingat sumbernya. Definitely a keeper, won't change a bit! Kek adalah moist, fluffy dan yang penting tak manis.Patutnya recipe ni untuk buat marble cake, tapi kerana tahu kebolehan diri untuk memarblekan kek adalah terhad, maka, kita ubah sahaja jadi black bottom butter cake.



Ingredients:-
240gm butter (I used 250gm Golden Churn salted butter)
90gm castor sugar
1/4 tsp salt (I omit)
300g condensed milk
3 tsp vanilla essence
240g cake flour (I used all purpose flour)
1.5 tsp baking powder (I used 2 tsp)
4 large eggs
3 tbsp cocoa powder

Method:-
1. Sift flour & baking powder. Set aside.
2. Cream butter & sugar till light and fluffy.
3. Add in vanilla essence and continue mixing.
4. Pour in condensed milk and mix well till combined.
5. Add in flour in three batches, and mix well on low speed.
6. Once all is combined well, add in eggs, one at a time, and continue mixing till smooth.
7. Take out 1/3 of the batter and mix well with cocoa powder. 
8. Line a 8 x 8 pan with baking paper. Pour in the chocolate batter. Smooth out.
9. Pour the butter batter on top of the chocolate batter and smooth out.
10.Bake in a preheated oven at 170deg for 45 mins. 

Nice eaten warm.

Pengat Pisang


Husband was fasting last Thursday. Kita kalau puasa kan, bila berbuka mesti suka something sweet. Teringin nak makan bubur pisang. (sebenarnya ko yang nak makan kan...) Since ada balance pisang tanduk dalam esbok, kita pun buat la pengat pisang ni. 

Dah nak masuk 13 tahun kawen, ini la first time i buat pengat pisang you. Belajar ngan mak over the phone. Mengalahkan orang nak amek peksa final geoteknik, berguru bagai. :P

Ingredients:-
Air
Pisang tanduk
Gula melaka
Gula putih
2 helai daun pandan
2 sudu besar sagu
Garam
Santan pekat

Cara-cara:-
1. Masak air dengan gula melaka, gula putih dan daun pandan. Bila dah mendidih, masukkan pisang tanduk yang telah dihiris tebal.
2. Masak air gula dengan pisang sehingga nampak air gula pisang tu keluar dari pisang. Tak reti aku nak explain.
3. Masukkan sagu dan santan pekat. Kacau elok-elok. Masukkan secubit geram untuk menambahkan rasa lemak.

I love it warm.

Chocolate Brownies - need botox. :P

A colleague of mine poted an image of step by step how to make brownies in Whatsapp group. Instantly tried it, and fall in love with it.

Ingredients:-
Ing A
100g butter
100g white sugar
90g brown sugar
2 eggs

Ing B
40g dark chocolate buttons
pinch of coffee

Ing C (sifted)
100g flour
40g cocoa powder

Ing D
90g chocolate buttons (I just used pieces of milk chocolate bar)

Method:-
1. Heat the butter and sugar on a pan, on low heat. Mix well until the sugar dissolve.
2. Turn off the heat and stir the eggs. Whisk well.
3. While it's still warm, add in Ing B. Mix well till the chocolate melts. 
4. Add in Ing C, and mix using a spatula until just combine.
5. Put the batter in a lined 7" x 7" pan. Arrange the chocolate button on top. 
6. Bake in a preheated oven at 160deg for 25 mins.
7. Serve warm
